We were busy little bees this weekend. Not much St. Patty’s Day celebrating for us, but that is perfectly fine because we accomplished so much this weekend. We painted our master bedroom and couldn’t be more in love with it!
The color we chose was Gentle Tide by Glidden. It is a soft green-blue. It’s really not more one than the other, that’s why I love it. The walls and ceiling both took 2 coats of Glidden primer. The ceiling soaked up 2 coats of Valspar Ceiling White paint, as well; however, we only did one coat of paint on the walls because it seemed to cover fairly well.We purchased our light fixture from the Home Depot, it is available in stores only and it ran us approximately $50. It was fairly simple to install, but then again, you don’t want to hear all the specifics because the wiring in our house is something you will NEVER encounter in your home…guaranteed.
Here was my inspiration for our bedroom. We are one step further to making it a reality.
We have an awesome black wood bed that my dad and sister refinished for Nathan and I for Christmas and I cannot wait to move it into our room. I’d like to add oil rubbed bronze drapery rods and white sheer drapes too.
Here is before:and after or “in progress”:Can’t wait to share the future progress! Next step will be sanding and painting all our trim and doors. We also selected and purchased a neutral frieze style carpet on Thursday night and the installation is scheduled for April 3rd. Happy (early) Birthday to me! It really is the simple things.
What do you all think so far?
